KTMF 2025 K-POP Cover Contest

1. Introduction

The KTMF 2025 K-POP Cover Contest is a global event powered by RAIN FM and hosted by The Korea Times. This year’s competition combines the excitement of K-POP performance with the broadcasting power of AI DJ Nahbee, making it the first-ever cover contest amplified through national radio. Contestants from around the world will perform their favorite K-POP songs and share their stories, all while being featured on-air and online.

2. Event Goals

• Showcase global K-POP talent and discover rising stars

• Engage U.S.-based and international K-POP fans

• Promote Korean entertainment and culture

• Strengthen RAIN FM’s brand as the K-POP radio leader in North America

3. Key Dates & Timeline

• Sept 5 – Oct 31: Online Submissions (YouTube + Google Form) — contest entry page build & launch included

• Sept 5 – Nov 7: RAIN FM Broadcast Promotion of Contestants

• Nov 7: Top 10 Finalists announced (via Instagram & RAIN FM)

• Dec 5 or 6: Live Grand Finale in Los Angeles (TBD)

4. Submission Guidelines

Participants must submit:

• YouTube video of K-POP cover performance (public or unlisted)

• Name of song and original artist

• A short message or voice memo about themselves

• Contact information and social media handles

5. Contest Mechanics

• RAIN FM will air the selected song of each contestant during daily broadcasts.

• AI DJ Nahbee will introduce contestants and share their personal stories.

• Fans will be encouraged to vote and engage through Instagram and radio mentions.

• The Top 10 finalists will be selected based on judging + fan engagement.

• Finalists will be invited to perform live in Los Angeles at the Grand Finale.

6. Judging Criteria

• Dance Performance – 30%

• Originality and Style – 25%

• Fan Engagement (radio mentions, comments, likes) – 25%

• Overall Presentation – 20%

7. Grand Finale – Live Stage

• Location: Los Angeles (Venue TBA)

• Format: 10 finalists perform live in front of an audience and judges

• Among the applicants, 100 individuals (teams) will be selected to receive invitations to attend the final stage as VIP audience members, and they will also be provided with a special gift from RAIN FM.

• Special appearances by K-POP guests (TBD)

• Awards: Grand Prize, Popularity Award, Special Mentions

• RAIN FM live broadcast and post-event media coverage

8. Operations & Staffing

• Event Director – Oversees execution and planning

• Broadcast Producer – Manages DJ Nahbee's schedule and sound output

• Social Media Team – Handles voting, promotion, fan engagement

• Venue & Stage Team – Final performance coordination

• Volunteers – On-site guest support and contestant coordination

9. Sponsorship & Brand Opportunities

• Naming rights for awards or finalist features

• Brand mentions on-air and online during RAIN FM promotions

• Product placement, giveaways, and finalist prize sponsorship
